Roy Dimoff launched ViaWest in early 1999 and provides the overall direction for the company which has become one of the largest privately-held colocation and managed services providers in North America. Roy continues to drive ViaWest's success through strategic positioning, strong financial management, and an instinctive feel for merger and acquisition selection.

Dimoff is a visionary who launched his first telecommunications company in Toronto, Canada at age 26. In 1988, he sold his company to ConferTech International of Denver, and accepted an executive management position. After a successful tenure with ConferTech, Dimoff took control of RMI.net, and led it through one of the first Internet IPOs.

Dimoff's entrepreneurial spirit and achievements are well recognized by prominent business leaders and analysts. Roy holds a number of prestigious awards, including:

  • Denver Business Journal's "Who's Who in Technology, Telecom and Media"
  • Colorado Technology Association’s  "Technology Executive of the Year"
  • Ernst & Young’s  "Entrepreneur of the Year Award" for the Rocky Mountain Region
  • Colorado Technology Association’s “Technology Entrepreneur of the Year”.

Dimoff is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, where he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration.

 

Nancy Phillips

As co-founder and COO, Nancy Phillips has a vested interest in maintaining ViaWest’s market leadership position by deploying high-performing operational teams that deliver exceptional results for customers. Her commitment to service delivery and operational excellence sets the standard at ViaWest. Phillips, who has more than 25 years of management experience in technology, has oversight for the organization’s operations, engineering, technical support and product development divisions.

Previously the Vice President of Operations for RMI.net, Phillips was integral to the company’s regional leadership position and growth. Prior to helping RMI.net back to profitability, Phillips consulted for numerous successful telecommunications companies, including France Telecom, MCI and Qwest. She began her career with Teleconferencing Systems Canada as Vice President of Sales and Operations. In this role she met Roy Dimoff and the two have been loyal business partners for more than two decades.

In addition to being recognized by ViaWest for her outstanding contributions, Phillips has won recognition for excellence throughout the industry, receiving:
  • Colorado Technology Association’s “Bob Newman Lifetime Achievement Award”
  • Denver Business Journal’s "Outstanding Woman in Business" in the high-tech category
  • Denver Business Journal’s "Outstanding Women in Business Jean Yancey Award”
  • Recognition by the Denver Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners.

Currently, Phillips holds board positions for the Colorado Technology Association, National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) and Startup Colorado. In these roles, Nancy develops and promotes initiatives to develop a vibrant technology community.

Phillips holds an Honors Bachelor of Economics from Queens University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

 

Michael Krza

Michael Krza has been part of the ViaWest management team since 1999 with oversight of ViaWest’s finance, accounting and purchasing functions. During his tenure, Krza has guided ViaWest through several rounds of equity and debt financing and numerous acquisitions.

Prior to joining the company, Krza was an audit manager with Arthur Andersen, LLP in the firm's Denver branch. Currently, Krza serves on the Board of Advocates for Children (a CASA organization) and is a past Board Chairman.

Krza received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Colorado State University and is certified as a public accountant in the State of Colorado.

 

Jason Carolan

Carolan joined ViaWest in 2011 as Vice President Product Development before being promoted to the newly created role of Chief Technology Officer (CTO). As CTO, Carolan is responsible for the strategic direction of all ViaWest products and technology initiatives.

Prior to ViaWest, Carolan had nearly 20 years of experience in leadership positions in both small startup companies and large Fortune 100 enterprises, focused on product architecture, product management and technical sales. His previous roles include over 10 years at Sun Microsystems, where he was a Distinguished Engineer in network and systems architecture, focused on cloud computing and data center architectures, and Director of Cloud Services Engineering at VMware.

Carolan was the lead author of one of the first books highlighting the combined use of virtualization and automation. He also has several patents in networking, data center resource management, virtualization, and security.

 

Paul Gerrard

ViaWest Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing

With a wealth of experience in high-level sales and operational management, Gerrard heads up ViaWest’s sales and marketing division. Gerrard joined ViaWest’s senior management group in the fall of 2010.

Prior to joining ViaWest, Gerrard served as the senior vice president of sales for SunGard’s Western Region. Gerrard also has held previous executive positions in sales and marketing with both MindShift Technologies as well as Inflow, and spent over 21 years in sales and sales management with Hewlett Packard.

Gerrard graduated from the University of Phoenix where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. He also pursued studies in architecture, engineering, and telecommunications management at both the University of New Mexico and USC.

 

Joe Guerriero

ViaWest Senior Vice President & General Counsel

Joe oversees all legal affairs for ViaWest and plays an integral role in the ViaWest management team.  Guerriero joined the ViaWest team in 2010, after assisting in the acquisition of the company by Oak Hill Capital Partners.

Prior to joining ViaWest, Guerriero worked for Hogan Lovells, LLP where he specialized in corporate transactional matters, and before that he was with Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP (New Jersey branch) and Brobeck Phleger & Harrison, LLP.

Guerriero received his law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Boston University.

 

Bob Newman

ViaWest Senior Vice President of Service Delivery

With a wealth of experience in high-level operations management and team development, Newman leads ViaWest’s service delivery group. Newman joined ViaWest’s senior management group in the fall of 2010.

Prior to ViaWest, Newman worked at the LDS Church in Salt Lake City, where he directed the global operations and infrastructure services group and oversaw product management, information management, communications, infrastructure engineering, operations, and service support functions. In addition to the Church, Newman also served as senior vice president at Infocrossing, Inc. where he, among many other achievements, created a “One Company – One Team” vision to integrate four business units into a single IT outsourcing business. Before Infocrossing, he was the senior vice president of service delivery at (i)Structure–a wholly owned subsidiary of Level(3) Communications. He joined (i)Structure after serving as vice president of information technology operations at Corporate Express.

Newman holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Computer Science from the University of Florida.

 

Dave Leonard

ViaWest Senior Vice President of Data Center Operations

As the senior vice president of data center operations, Dave Leonard directs all of ViaWest's day-to-day facility operations and procedures, as well as expansion projects and future data center builds.

Prior to ViaWest, Leonard founded Critical Infrastructure Consulting LLC., and was the chief technology officer of Infocrossing for nine years. He was also the chief technology officer for (i)Structure, a division of Level(3) Communications which Infocrossing later acquired. Prior to that, Leonard was chief technology officer of Corporate Express, Inc. based in Broomfield, Colorado.

Leonard is also a Fellow at the Uptime Institute, the leading educational and standards organization in the data center industry, and is a judge for their annual Green IT awards in the Data Center Design category. Leonard holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Texas Christian University.

 

Anne McCord

ViaWest Vice President of Human Resources

With more than 15 years of experience in human resources and senior leadership positions, McCord ensures that ViaWest’s human resources programs and practices support the organization’s strategy and growth objectives. She is responsible for employee recruitment, performance management, acquisition integration and implementing HR tools that will maximize organizational effectiveness.

Prior to joining ViaWest in 2007, McCord held senior HR leadership positions with Bonfils Blood Center where she designed human resources systems and employee engagement programs. As senior vice president at Bonfils, she also served as a board member and managing director for HemoNet, a subsidiary application service provider supporting mission critical applications for blood centers nationwide.

McCord holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and also holds certification as a senior professional in human resources (SPHR).
